Important Update on Glen Cedars Golf Course for the 2023 Season

by Glen Cedars | Dec 26, 2022
We have been unsuccessful in our bid for a new lease in January 2023 and as a result we will no longer be operating the golf course at Glen Cedars.

In the late 1960’s Jerry Coughlan and two partners, with a passion for the game of golf, set out to find some land to build a golf course that would be beautiful, challenging, unique and that people would enjoy. In 1968 Glen Cedars Golf Course opened to the public and has fulfilled the dream of the founders for more than 50 years. In 1972 the Federal Government expropriated the land and leased the property back to the original owners.

Since then, Deer Creek Golf Clubs has continually operated and maintained the golf course through a lease with the Federal Government. Unfortunately, our time as stewards of this incredible property has come to an end. We have been unsuccessful in our bid for a new lease in January 2023 and as a result we will no longer be operating the golf course at Glen Cedars.

We want to thank our members, all our guests, leagues and tournaments who came back for so many years because they saw the beauty of this incredible place and created so many great memories here.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank the thousands of employees that have devoted their time, passion, and commitment to making Glen Cedars truly a remarkable place to be.

Glen Cedars is not only part of the Deer Creek Golf Clubs family, but an iconic place in Durham Region.

Glen Cedars, we will miss you.
