Have your say about the Operating Engineers' Regulatory Review

The Government of Ontario has made changes to the Technical Standards and Safety Act, 2000,(External link) to allow for the creation of alternate rules for the Operating Engineers Regulation(External link). The rules will be created by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) and approved by Minister of Government and Consumer Services.

The changes are intended to implement recommendations made by a panel of industry stakeholders to allow for adoption of a risk-based regulatory framework. Under this approach, businesses would have the option to either comply with the alternate rules or continue adhering to requirements in the current regulation.
